The Cinema of Kuwait is run by 'Cinescape' and the company has cinemas in over 10 malls, with the largest being in 360 Mall and Avenues Mall. Kuwaiti cinema includes many movies from around the world, typically released a few weeks after their initial release in the US. The first Kuwaiti feature-film, Bas ya Bahar, was released in 1972.

History of Cinema



The company known as Cinescape, started in 1956, has exclusive rights to show movies in cinemas in Kuwait. Grand Cinemas is a cinema that is not run by Cinescape and is located in the new Al Hamra Tower in Kuwait City.
