Secret People is a 1952 British drama film directed by Thorold Dickinson and starring Valentina Cortese and Serge Reggiani. Audrey Hepburn plays Cortese's sister and it was her first significant role in a film just prior to her discovery by Hollywood for Roman Holiday. Hepburn plays a ballerina, making use of her extensive training. The film is set in the 1930s and starred Valentina Cortese as a woman who becomes involved with a group of terrorists and bears responsibility for the accidental death of a bystander during an assassination attempt on the dictator of a fictional European country.
